Bandit hurt in line of duty...

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know Jeff fell off a ladder at work yesterday, although it was not too high up, he was standing on the top part, leaning over a four or five foot pit that will soon be a bath tub....and he fell!

His wrist, elbow, butt, and head were all hit in the accident but he felt like he wanted to wait until today to see how he was doing. He woke up this morning still in pain, mostly in his wrist...luckily his butt only received scratches!!

I took him to the doc today and he has a fracture in his wrist. He is all splinted and bandaged now waiting for his appt with ortho next week. He couldn't just break it like a normal person, he had to break the bone that provides blood flow to his hand....long story short we will find out next week if he has to get a pin to make sure it heals properly and he doesn't lose any of his fingers.

Needless to say he won't be typing much over the next week...I thinkhe will get used to it in a couple of days and then be able to type, but for now I can imagine it will take him quite a while to get anything out with only one hand. Here is to the next 8 weeks of taking care of his ass while I just get bigger and bigger!!

I hope he feels better...and I feel bad for his fall....but the timing could not be worse....I guess unless it was when I was actually giving birth!!

That sucks to hear man. I hope he wasnt on the top level of an opening ladder, when they clearly say DO NOT STAND ON THIS STEP.

It's time to file a lawsuit against his employer for placing him in unsafe working conditions. It's the only way, really.

yeah,I hope everything turns out well, I hate getting up on ladders,especially when I fell off trying to put Christmas lights up

sorry to hear about his misfortune.

sounds like the same injury i had when i totalled my lincoln. my wrist was swollen and hurt, but the initial x-ray didnt show anything. 2 weeks later when it was still hurting, i got an MRI and it showed a fracture on my scaphoid bone. (in the wrist, where the "nerve box" is) i ended up needing surgery and had a screw put in. hope he is luckier than i was....

He was doing what the diagram shows not to do....his own fault...but the pit of death below was the killer!!

I helped him shower today...and he told me I can help him with other things later....haha!! Sounds like I have my work cut out for me!!

That is the exact injury he has...only his fracture already shows up....we are waiting for the swelling to go down to see if it goes all the way through!

I hope Jeff will be a little better at handling things than Jason was! Jason was a big baby about it! I had to do EVERYTHING for him....put his deoderant on for him, pull up his pants for him....pretty much everything but wipe his butt for him. Good luck,Michelle!
