mine gives off a big squeal when it shifts at wot. i belive because of that is why when i pulled the old belt off it had 2 pretty gnarly warped spots in it.

Try taking the belt off and scrubbing the pulleys with a wire brush and some dawn or something that will degrease well, Sometimes after you've been running an old pulley for a while the belt can almost "polish" the pulleys and cause other belts to slip... but its just a thought.

currently im running the oreilly brand belt. lol. i didnt want to spend the 40-50 dollars for the better one if it didnt fix my squeak at idle and had to replace my ac or something. but its seem to been doing this sence i put the sct tune on it and boosted my hp. but i know im really not pushing that much.

So have you tried putting the stock tune back on just to see if it would stop? This whole issue seems pretty ridiculous since you took all precautions already, which is why I was thinking maybe it's just a crappy belt or something. I've got an extra belt you can try also granted it is used, I keep it as a backup.

I think he's hearing things, because with how loud his car is and his burnin' rubber from every stop, you wouldn't be able to hear a lil' belt squeak!

no i still have the damn belt slip. i havent really tried anything else to fix it because i dont know what else it could possibly be. i dont think going down the next belt size would make a difference either because my new tensioner should be pulling up the slack.

You never said what brand belt you have? And are you sure it's the correct size? I got my extra belt you can try tonight if you want. I'm leaving tomorrow to Dallas for a few days, but I can head over or you can come over here, whatever. Let me know.

Maybe youre making the noise out of pure joy from moving so quickly...lol but then when others are in the car youre more reserved so you dont make the noise in front of them :P

    Try a smaller belt size!!!

Yeah, it would put more tension on the spring inside the tensioner!

Not sure exactly about that, but it's just a coiled up piece of metal, so the tighter you make it coil, the more tension is on it. Maybe you should lower your shift points back down and see if it still does it.

Yes a tight belt will still help even with the automatic tensioner.

BTW my old race car was nicknamed Black Sunshine. The owner of the shop owns it now and it hauls!

Alright, so I went for a test ride with Blacksunshine last night and he was able to replicate the belt noise a couple times. I can definitely say he's not crazy, there is a noise! It sounds a lot like a tire chirp, but a different pitch and you can tell it's from the front of the car. It happens at high RPM when his auto shifts from 2-3 or 3-4 at WOT, not sure exactly what gear it is. Only thing I can think to say is drag from his A/C clutch maybe??

... that doesn't mean the bearings in the clutch aren't going out... It still spins with the a/c off ya know...

Yes, but it could be DRAG from the A/C clutch causing it to squeak... i.e. it's not spinning as fast as the other pullies. That's my thought.
