Exclamation Beware of Cordova (Nacogdoches/1604)

I have been doing business with this Car shop for about 3 years now. I have been nothing but happy with them in the past as they get right to work on your car and hardly charge anything for the work they do. Most of them hardly speak good english but they do good work.

However, here lately when you show up and ask them how much to repair or fix something they will tell you one amount and then change the price triple the amount. I had my right window go out on my car and had to get it repaired. I went to the dealer to get the bracket that pulls the window up as they didnt have the part. They tell me for 40.00 they would install it (basically just pop screws off the door, undo some screws.... and then just pop on the new bracket, very easy but I didnt have the time as I was leaving out of town that day.) Well they sit around drinking beer, talking, etc. While I just sit there and wait for about 30 minutes until finally I was like "hey" we need to get this done sometime today. So they finally get this done after a long time, and I go to pay... 120.00 the cashier tells me!

I was like what?! With the actual work they did it took maybe 10 minutes plus I already had the door taken off for them so all it was.... was just unscrewing screws and putting the screws back in on the new bracket. So I put up a fit telling the cashier that they said for 40.00 they would do it.... they would not give in at all. She was like well "it looks like we bought your car from you then, you arent getting it back until you pay." I used my credit card to pay them to get my keys and then called my credit card company and let them know what had happend. They issued a complete refund so they didnt even get a dime.

Just beware of this place, here lately me and a bunch of my friends that go there have been getting screwd over by them the same way. Get it in writing the amount or something upfront.

Sounds to me like you already did most of the work before you got there. Wouldn't it have been quicker to just install the part yourself then wait for them to do it?

Buying the part would have been $40 plus 10 minutes of your time to do it yourself... sounds like a win/win situation

odelay. back when they opened, like 10 years ago, they did awesome work for about 1/2 price. they kept growing and growing, and it went to their heads. now they charge the same or more as a certified mechanic to do the same jobs. and i would much rather have the trusty neighborhood mechanic or national chain store do the work than some illeagal.

I dont trust any of those small tire shops. I went to Cordova asking for a set of Michelin take-offs, they said they had them. After jerking my chain for 15 minutes waiting for the guy in the back to show me the tires, I realized they were just trying to buy time and then sell me some other brand. I walked out, and will never go back there again.

The only place like that that I've ever gone to is Martinez Tire Shop right there off the highway on O'Connor by the Diamond Shamrock. I used to go by there when it only had one bay and to this day those guys( that can also barely speak english ) have always been cool to deal with. If I don't like the price on something I always throw a counter offer and they usually pick an amount right in the middle.

they used to be good until they took 4 hours to mount the tires to the rims on a '96 honda accord
