Bone stock '93

So a freind of mine recently traded his non working, money pit of a talon for a '93 MUSTANG. Dont get me wrong the car had potential, his brother had one running high 12's. Anyway, so its bone stock and i beleive its a munual. Im assuming the 5.0s run say high 14's..... not sure.

But lets say he wanted to get into low 13's or 12s. What would he need to get him there?

where would you guys start? any combos that have proven to be winners?

Just for kicks lets say he wanted to get into the 11's.....

Is the Talon a TSi or TSi AWD? I had a 95 TSi with a big 16G, ported O2 housing, Thermal R&D full 3" exhust, Greddy ProfecB, Buschur BIG FMIC,660cc RC fuel squirters,255 pump and DSMlink. Car went 12.80's on some 17" radials. NO CLUTCH DUMPING, as it will break the tranny after a few hard launches(trust me on this). You have to slip the clutch on these cars and launch around 3500 or so. Otherwise, you're gonna have a front-tire fire if ya know what I mean. PM me if you want and I can give you more insight as I dumped an unreal amt. of cash into mine before I traded it in for an SRT-4(NEVER listen to ur gf) Stock fuel system oin the 1st gens will only support around 300-325 fwhp. Tell him to check out Hahn Racecraft. They had a 2nd gen running low 11's with a big 18G, ported and clipped, and pretty much same mods as I had. But they were running slicks in their car. I miss my old Talon and I swear if I see it in toen, Im gonna chase it down in the Stang and try to buy it back. Hell, I still have all my receipts for the parts lol

i guess no one answered ur question...build the rear end, buy some full slicks, weld ur torque boxes, long tube headers, free flowing exhaust, good clutch, good clutch cable/quadrant, short throw shifter, pullies, subframes...low 13's....add a 150 wet kit...11's...

see sig below

theres one here in corpus... BIG FMI, low... Cams... Big turbo... he made 452 fwhp on a conservitve tune... sorry for thread jack

as for your mustang... you may want to try to post this in the tech thread?...

usual boltons are usally good for high-mid 13's in the GT's...

A supercharger with street tune and you can touch low13's high 12's

u also gotta make sure the driver knows how to drive. i've seen stangs running low 13's when they should be running low-mid 12's due to non-experience.

I'd say gears also 3.73s or 4.11s would get him down the track good. build the rear end, buy some full slicks, weld ur torque boxes, long tube headers, free flowing exhaust, good clutch, good clutch cable/quadrant, short throw shifter, pullies, subframes just like roostracing said should easly be in the 12s

There are many many ways to get a 5.0L into any of the et's ranges you mentioned! Alot of people have done different setups to get there. I can tell you 2 setups I did that put stockblock 5.0L in the low 13's,mid 12's and high 11's NA.

full weight car's
#1. I did a budget 95 gts for a friend. I put a set of BPA ported eddy's heads that had been milled with 1:7:1 rr,Holley system max intake,70mm tb,77 pro-m,24lber's,1 5/8 lt's,x-pipe and dynomax catback. Due to money the car still had the stock cam and 3.08's out back. Car ran consistent 13.3@108-109 on street tires.

#2. I did another friends 92 gt. Car had a set of ported gt40x heads,crower 15512 cam,1:7:1 rr's,holley system max intake,70mm tb,1 5/8 lt's,x-pipe,dynomax's dumped,73mm c&l,24lber's and 3.73's. Car ran consistent 12.50's@111-112 on dr's.

lighted car

#3. This is a friend that used the same setup the 92 gt had but is car was lightened alittle bit and he used 165cc afr heads with a victor jr intake and 650dp carb. Car ran 11.94@114 na. On a 175 shot it ran a 10.60@130.
