    Brake Rotor Question

While I had the car on the lift today, I notice something on the rotor. It looks like a crack, I just had the rotors shaved about 100 miles ago. Is this normal?

Either the rotor cracked as a result of metal that was removed, basicaly the rotor is too thin and got too hot and cracked or it was cracked before, once it was turned, the crack was no longer visable. Now that the rotor has gotten hot, allowing the metal to expand and catch brake pad dust in the crack, it is again visable. I have turned rotors in the past that had cracks, they looked like the cracks had been removed after they were turned, but shortly after using the rotors the cracks were visable again. Basicaly if you have a brake drum, rotor or flywheel that has cracks, most likely having the part resurfaced will not remove the cracks, just make them not visable with out magnufluxing the part or using it and getting particals trapped in the crack once the metal gets hot enough to expand.

Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens.

If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you weren’t a racist, you’d better vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot.

It's up to the voters to remove the other!

Well I'll be replacing it next week for sure. I'm glad it's not my daily driver anymore.
