Burned CD's

Alright so I burned a CD and tried to play it in my 98 and it didnt do very well. The CD keeps skipping and jumping tracks..... Any quick fix? I didnt really want to get a new system because I have the Mach system and have two units..... I have also heard that the 460 system has two amps and when you go aftermarket you lose one of those amps.

Don't believe there is a "fix" some early CD players just don't do well with "burnt" CD's

Try one of those CD lens cleaners. If it is reading enough to "see" that there are tracks, it can read it .... Prolly just a dirty lens. Someone is bound to have a cleaner you can borrow ...

Anyone?

most burned CDs would get stuck in my MACH460 on my old '02 GT and my current '01 Cobra. Some CD-R manufacturers make thicker CDs - those are the ones that give problems.

yeah i had problems with my sixer back in the day with burned CD's, and true different manufacturers make thicker(give or take a mm) cd's than others so it can cause a problem...as far as your problem honestly it sounds like it was burned wrong(maybe)...i had that problem now and then, something to doduring the buffing period the comp needs when burning...never got it fully explained to me, but basically when the cd would come out it would jump like your sayin because it wasnt burned by the comp correctly...

but yeah try cleaning the lens and such, maybe you just have dirt on there and its skipping...
