cam
getting the 69 302 slowly ready. looking at cams now. wanting to know would it be worth it to get a custom grind cam? i am looking for something from idle to 3000rpm ish range. it will be a strret car, no track days. was wanting lunati.... what you guys think? thanks..ChrisJ i need to read my post before i post them up.....

I think a custom is the way to go generally, you get a cam tailored to YOUR needs, and not an OTS cam designed for several applications. That being said, if your only looking for an RPM range of idle to 3k, your not asking much, a high torque truck style cam would probably work. To give you an idea of what a custom can cost, In my old vert, I went custom with Jay Allen from Camshaft Innovations and would highly recommned him again but I paid 380.00 for a billet cam.

what you need is a stock HO 5.0 cam and advance it 4 degrees. You will make what you want and ungodly torque.
I once saw a guy do this with afr 165s and a ported out stock intake. it made 260/350 This was with the efi HO intake though... genarally more torque than a carb.

so i want to know what the cam i should use. its going to be a weekend car. not a dd. the block is .40 over. and BHAM i will give him a call. is there a way to get with him over email? he have a website?
