    Car has poor acceleration

Need some opinions. My stang has poor acceleration from a stop. When i barely tap the gas it doesnt go anywere, i have to give it at least or more than half of throttle for it to go and when i does it takes up to 2000 rpms for it to get the move on. After it goes past 2k it shifts good threw all the gears. Also whenever i footbrake it, the rpms dont go past 1100 rpms this is even whenever i have the gas pedal to the floor and whenever i let the brake go it does the same thing as stated above about the rpms. Also, i have the little screw on the throttle body a little bit down because if i were to pick it all the way up, my car would just turn off

i have done these things and still nothin.

    1. replaced the fuel filter
    2. check the plugs
    3. check the wires.
    4. test the ignition coil pack
    5. cleaned out the egr valve
    6. timing is good
    7. Fuel pressure good

other things that i need to do.

    check the TPS
clean the MAF (going to do right now)

There is no check engine light on ethier

Yep, My next step would be to check the voltage at the TPS. I am not sure what it is for a v6 though.
Also I am assuming it is an AOD. Does it do it in drive only? Can you manually put it into first and does it do the same as stated?

Sounds like some clogged ass cats or bad loss of compression.

I see you're using an offroad pipe. Won't be cats...

Are you getting blue smoke out of the exhaust?

well i pulled some hoses from the egr bypass tube. Both hoses were cracked or torn, whatever you call it. I blew threw them, holding my finger on the other side and no air was coming out of the tear. I even used throttle body cleaner to see if it would leak threw the tear but no dice. Those hoses are probably still good if nothing came out threw the cracks

should i still get them replaced ?

Also it seems like the engine is miss firing because the engine is running a little bit ruff at idle. But i already checked all the plugs and wires and they are all good. Firing order is good too..Maybe motor mounts are bad? could probably cause the way the engine is shaking but i know not the poor acceleration :p

i think we figured it out already. Its the MAF or the wiring. Because we pulled the MAF sensor off and my car was idling the same. Nothing changed at all but we are going to do a few more testing on the MAF to see if its it

I notice your car is an auto, maybe your torque converter is going bad. you said you have to give it about 2000 rpms for it to go. Just a thought

hey i went to the san antonio raceway last week for the first time, i had pretty good reaction times off the tree, but after i would take off i noticed my car would almost "die out" for lack of a better work and then it would go nice and strong to the finish.. if you know what i'm talking about is it just the way i'm driving?? or is it the car??

and what time should a "mostly stock" v6 mustang be running in the 1/4 mile

ram air intake, custom made bumper ram
air system, short throw shifter with UPR
reaper pistol grip shift knob 3.73 gears
with posi, wheels from 01 mustang,
firehawk indy 500 RWL tires, 1 inch
    wheel spacers in back, bbk
    underdrive pulley kit, spoiler

well my 95 auto, ran like a 17.3 with only, BBK Underdrive Pulley Kit, Aftermarket CAI, 2.5" True Dual Exhaust w/o Cats & w/xpipe as my major mods

and this other stang 98 v6 ran a 16.6 with only True Dual Exhaust BBK Cold air intake
(but there is a difference from the 94-95 and the 96-98 v6 stangs. The 94 and 95 came with only came with 140hp to the crank while the 96-98 v6's came with 150)
