The burger was your problem.

well i took the battery to auto zone and had them charge it for a hour or so and picked up an IAC as well, swapped it out and now it stayed on for bout six minutes on its own, so im hoping its good...still worried battery might die again if there is an alternator problem...it started up kinda funny but seemed to get a hold of itself after a minute

as far as corrosion i did have some on the battery before i took it to vatozone and the cables are kinda old by now, as far as changing out the terminals is that hard to do? looks pretty simple i may do that friday if the car holds up until then...if i get more corrosion quickly in a few days time what does that mean? bad cable? alternator? battery?

I would change out the whole cable and not just the terminal.
if there is corrosion on the terminal, there is corrosion in the cable as well.
You can get by without doing it, but it is a good suggestion.

on a 4.6 it can be.
If you just cut back on your current cable enough to remove the obvious corrosion, you should be fine.

The cables on the 4.6 are a PITA to do if you have never done one before. When putting the battery back in and restarting, the PCM was essentially reset, so it has to learn idle all over again. Normally, a few miles of driving cures the idle concern. As far as protecting the battery, if you have Vaseline (and I know you do Phil............ dirty dirty boy), you can smear the terminals and posts to inhibit future corrosion.

I'd run the car to the vato guys and see if they can run an alternator test on it as well to verify your alternator is still within its limits.

(grabs vaseline from Jody's buttsecks drawer) ok so gonna smear some of your love potion on the posts (although probably not gonna do it in a sexy fashion as you would lol) probably friday when i got time again...lets say the alternator is bad, would there be warning signs ahead of time or will it just die? wouldnt want it dying before friday when i take it to them...

i just took the car out for a 15min cruise it seems to handle things well so far...

Not gonna comment any more on what you did the other day with the anal lube.

Anyway, warning signs, battery light turns on, slow cranking, or even clicking, but it is too late by then. Or, it just up and craps out, no warning.

Doesn't hurt to clean the TB and blade at all, find an old tooth brush, spary the inside with that same cleaner, brush it 360* and the back of the blade then spray it again for good measure. it will take a sec to start, but it is cheap maintenance.
