    car wont run

88 GT- the car has been sitting for a few months but had this problem before parked. when starting the car- the engine turns over, I press the gas and the engine will rev up then die immediately... I don't think the battery is too good but I had the car hooked up to another car with jumper cables. I did put some gas in the car so that's not the problem but the GAS LIGHT is on when I turn the key on/engine off and the gas light stays on when the car dies... not sure if that means anything...? Thanks in advance for the help. -JM

Maybe an ignition switch, make sure you have power to the coil with the key in the run possition, you could be losing power when you go from start back to the run possition. It could be a problem with the computer, it could easily be a bad MAP sensor, check to make sure you have no vacuum leaks, check the hose to the MAP make sure it is good with no leaks, kinks or other problems.
The current combo is an '85 coupe with 302 bored and stroked to 364, Ported Twisted Wedge heads and a BXR intake, A9M ECM with a Moates chip, Doug Nash 5 spd, 4.56 gears, Hoosier 275/60/15 drag radials.
Daily driver '89 GT 302 stock block, crank, rods and pistons, ported GT-40P heads with stock valves, Ported Explorer intake, B302 cam, Z spec T5, 3.73 gears, Moates chip and no traction. Made 325 whp and 325 wtq.

What are some other signs that this might be the problem? Would the battery gauge tell me anything?
