    Unhappy Car won't start

2002 V6 5spd. Battery has to be good because the remote still works and the radio and lights work. The car makes a "CLICK" when the key is turned and that's it. What's wrong here??

it could still be the battery. The remote and lights dont take as much juice as cranking the engine does. That click is what I hear when my battery dies.

bad ground maybe. but check the voltage of the battery. better yet, put your battery in the car and see if it starts. if it does take the battery to be tested, if its good, check the alternator. there was another thread on this recently.

and yeah what wiked said about the locks and accessories still working, they don't take much juice to work.

if it jump starts, it should be the battery. if not, starter/solenoid.

Thats right, clean out your terminals, you might just not be getting enough cranking amps due to a faulty connection

a year is enough time for a battery to go bad. some just don't last sometimes so forget the whole its only a year old thing.

Expecially if its a cheapy... My last car I got used with a walmart everstart in it... got a free on every 8-12 months until i finally bought a better battery.

As mentioned above, you may also check the connections to the posts... they corrode through pretty easy if you have build up and dont take care of them. I had a battery that showed good charge on a volt meter but had a ground terminal that looked and felt ok until I tried to remove it and it fell apart. Replaced it and it started right up.
