its not that hard
the kit comes with an exploded picture of the carb and some instructions buy a gallon of carb cleaner and soak it in there just pay attention when you take it apart so you know how it goes back. count the turns on the air/fuel screws from where they are at to bottomed out, that way you will be close when putting them back. check the clearance on the throttle shaft bushing, they will need to be replaced if the shaft moves. i'm sure others will have more advise. You can do it, not too hard. If you can do that, then it is actually not too much harder to rebuild the C4 automatic trans.

What carb??
Holleys can be a PIA sometimes quadara jets and 2 barrells are pretty easy. Just pay attention during disassembely and watch for little ck balls and springs. They can pop out and be gone pretty easy. Soak it and blow everything oout before reassemblely. There not to bad usually.

Not too bad. In addition to what the others said, not knowing which carb you're working on is kind of limited. If it's a Carter or Q-jet based make sure the surfaces (top, body, throtle plates) aren't warped. Metal straight edge and emery paper is what I have always used to "fine tune" the mounting surfaces. Never had a leak unless the body was really warped by other owners over tightening the screws in previous rebuilds.

i've only rebuilt one carb in my life, and it was the easiest thing ever... kinda tideous because it's lots of small parts.. but i attempted it having never done it before and with nothing but the kit and my haynes repair manual...

I rebuild all my carbs. Pretty easy if you can be thorough on your cleaning and put it back together like it came apart.
