a friend of mine insist's that is more work to pull the lotero out then to disconnect the motormounts and just tilt it on the tranmission crossmember. i don't think it will be easier at all. what do you think?:jeff:

i was driving the car the other day and the oil pressure gauge went to zero. almost as if it was broken. stock dash gauge by the way. i stopped, checked the oil and it was full. drove it a couple miles at slow speed and could hear the rocker begin to tap. this happened thanksgiving day and i just bought the car two days before this.

I have an oil pump that I believe will work on your 5.0. It's a Melling pump part# M-68. I bought it for an '86 F150 that I had with the injected 5.0. I'm almost positive yours takes the same pump. I'll let you have it for $5 just because I don't really need it anymore.

I did a little searching to make sure it would fit. I found this page

http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/...lling.html#sbf

About half way down the page it has:

289-302 FORD OIL PUMPS

#M-68
289-302 Ford Standard Volume

Sounds like it probably has other issues.Possible bearing clearance.I've never seen an oil pump fail with the exception of being locked up from debris.

He means the engine bearings are worn out or spun (spun a rod bearing) inside the rod cap.

The easiest way is to pull the motor. Or the other option would be to support the motor with a hoist and drop the K-Member, but I'd opt to pull the motor. Sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't.
