Check your tires, informative video

ABC News

This is good info to have. With most of us having some kind of performance tire on our rides I'm sure we'd all like to know if were on old tires or not.

I'll leave this here for a while so more people see it, then move it to the general tech section.

WOW... I didn't know that. I went out to check my car and as the reporter said, sometimes the date is on the inside. My drivers side tires have them facing out and they're stamped (2007) on both... so for now I'll assume the passenger ones are as well (I'm not about to go jack up the car just to check the dates). If that's the case... that's like may/june 2007 and I bought them about 2-3 months after that, so mine were fresh out of the oven!

its mostly on truck tires that have one side w/ white letters and one black. if the customer pics the black out he gets an incomplete dot number, but on the bright side we write all the dot # down on a card and give it to them so they can register it with michelin.

HMMM...
I find that rather interesting ecspecially since all the literature I have available at work regarding AIRCRAFT tires clearly state that the tires have an INDEFINITE shlef life as long as they are stored in a cool dry place away from UV light....
And yes they all have a MFG date code and S/N on them...
Good info none the less I suppose
