Clutch slipping??
The car runs fine in a straight line but when you give power around a turn it seems like the clutch slips. Start smelling the good old clutch smell. When it idles it has a lil squeaking noise but if you push the clutch pedal just a bit it goes away. I have been told this is the throw-out bearing. Will this cause the slip. I also had gears installed a while back and wondered if maybe they might be slipping. Any ideas. Keep in mind this is the 3rd clutch in 3 years all installed by the same shop and all had the sqeak. The shop told me the squeak would go away after break in but it never did.

Take it to another tranny shop and get their opinion, and tell the shop your using what they said. But IMHO 3 clutches in 3yrs DAMN, id stay away from that shop!

your throw out bearing is bad. this won't cause it to slip though. if you've gone throught 3 clutches that fast, I would say that you have several possible causes. First is that the flywheel has not been resurfaced on any of the clutch installations. second, you have contamination on your flywheel, clutch, or pressure plate. have any leaks? a rear main seal can sometimes make it's way to your clutch. freeze plugs as well. another possible cause is improper down shifting. not to say that you do, but just a possiblity. also just poor quality clutch assemblies. as for the slipping while turning, your LSD could be giving out, but you wouldn't be smelling it though since it is basically sealed except for the vent tube. if your LSD is slipping, then going around a corner under acceleration will cause the inside wheel to spin resulting in raised RPMs and burning tire smell, but not a clutch or carbon smell.

I used to go thru alot of clutches as well. Then I got the high end Centerforce clutch and the wieghted pressure plate, and have not had no slipping or any problems. It really is a great clutch, just get the double adjustable cable for it and its not to bad to step on.
