    conflicting info on CAI

I am not the smartest guy when it comes to mustangs but i am learning. I have called mulitple shops, and i get different info on having to to tune a cold air intake. So hears the deal does it need to be tuned or not. If it does not i can perform the task by myself but if does then i have to by the tuner. Say for instance bbk says theres no tuning required but if you talk to some of the local shops they say i will get a check engine light. i just bought my pony, and i dont want to f it up.

You could possibly get a CEL depending on how the MAF sits in the pipe on that setup. My suggestion.... Put the thing in and see if you get a CEL. If you do, find out what the CEL is and then tune if needed.

Just cause you don't understand what's going on ...don't mean it don't make no sense
And just cause you don't like it,...don't mean it aint no good
And let me tell you something
Before you go taking a walk in my world,...you better take a look at the real world
Cause this aint no Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
Can you say "feel like shit?"Yea maybe sometimes I do feel like shit
I aint happy about it, but I'd rather feel like shit than be full of shit!
And if I offended you, Oh I'm sorry, But, maybe you need to be offended
But here's my apology and one more thing........Fuck you!

    Regardless of the color...
AdRock's suggestion is reasonable. But most companies sell intakes packaged with a tuner for a reason, the PCM needs to be recalibrated to take advantage of new airflow parameters and sensor locations. If a company sells an intake that doesn't "need a tune", the airflow for that intake probably isn't much more than stock, meaning performance gains will also be minimal. Not all intakes are created equal even though they all look similar. If you don't want to spend money on a tune, just do a drop in K&N filter.

MaxV it was a pleasure meeting with you today at your shop. The things you mentioned made total sense, and I am going to do Jlt CAI, and the exhaust. I want the best exhaust so that it maximizes the performance of my pony. I would really prefer a true dual exhaust so that I get the best results, and enhanced power.
Thanks for taking the time to go over this info with me.

Another way to look at it, is that you just took your first steps into an expensive addiction. My V6 lasted 2 years before I swapped it in for MORE POWER.
Now I spend my days and nights reading about Mustangs, checking posts on 3+ Mustang Forums, and feigning for the newest edition of 5.0 to come out...
at this very moment I'm shopping around for the MGW shifter.

Welcome to a new lifestyle Palerider.
