control arm bushings

I've been having probs with my poly eurothane bushings on my mac upper and lower control arms. the lower control arm bushings got eaten up a while back and had mac send me some more for free. I bought the car from my neighbor about a year ago and he too said he went through a set of lower bushings as well. we both used petroleum based grease to lube 'em up. Recently I heard that the reason I'm having problems is because the pretoleum eats away at the poly euro bushings and i have to use synthetic grease. Need some info if anyone knows. If this is true, it would be nice if mac stated that when I bought the freakin things!

i dont' have any answers myself. i had that petroleum based stuff on mine as well, but i didn't own the car long enough after it to develop a problem. there has got to be something else he can do larry... new bushings with normal or different kind of grease than petrol?
