What!! The 5.0 broke??

coolant leak

ok folks, I have a coolant leak. I have no clue where its comming from, It drips when the car is off and cool, from the bottom of the fly wheel cover where the trans and engine meet. I have jacked the car up but I still cant see where its from. All the freeze plugs are all good (thank God) HELP!!

check the coolent tubes....the hoses that go into the heater core. thats what is leaking on mine.

ok i am going to look now, oil is good, not milky, had a small puddle on top of the water pump, tightened pump and no more puddle, but it still wasnt enough to drip down to back of the engine.

If it still has the stock heads there are freeze plugs on the back of them.Did you check them?

I looked with a flash light and a mirror, felt with my hands used a few bad words, screamed, anyway, no, I didnt see them leaking or felt any thing wet

Hey buddy! might be a late response, but if u still have the same problem.. that's might be leaking somewhere from the overflow tank (for example) and as oyu drive it all accumulated on the bell housing cover with wind move! as you park the can you will see the drops are coming from there! might be!

Thanks for the help, I think I found the leak, comming from the top of the water pump gasket, always a small puddle from the top of the pump. It builds from the top and finds its way down. Just waiting for some down time to change the gasket. Thanks or the help Gents!!!

Wow I dint know the water pump was on the back of the engine where the bell housing is...............

Glad ya found it I was thinking the freeze plug in the back of the block

i was thinking the back of the lower intake. i had a lower go bad when the back where the water line goes into got eaten up with age and the stopper fell out. had to find another lower
