Because they are officially opening on June 7th, there will be no time to get in free. The owner is sending me some info and pricing.

No problem on the free part. You know what they say about aa free lunch.

I am just stoked there is a place semi close to get some lateral force. I may need some better tires.

Okay here are the details:

- $4250 for a weekend date
- 3rd party insurance rider required (usually either K&K or Wisenberg/Wells-Fargo Motorsports) - Variable $$
- Ambulance w/ two EMTs (Hays County) - $40/hr.
- Limit 45 drivers (preferably in run groups, but up to the club)
- Limit 20 cars on course at once
- 3rd party tech inspection required
- Adequate instruction provided for novices (if instructors need preview time of the track, which we suggest, then we'll figure out how to schedule it)
- Usual safety equipment required (modern helmet)
- Convertibles with non-factory rollover protection are required to have a rollbar and pass the 'broomstick test'.
- 95 dBA limit trackside (30 feet behind car at almost full throttle)
- Club members only (in this case, whatever club is providing the insurance)
- All track rules apply (passing zones, point bys, 'four off and in', etc.)
- Gates can open as early as 7am for organization/arrival/registration.
- Track can go hot as early as 9am and has to go cold by 6pm.
- Gates close at 7pm.

I think that's about it. Sounds like a lot, but it's basically just insurance, EMS, tech inspection, and obeying the rules out there.

It should work out to *about* $150 per person, depending on how the club wants to set it up. $4250 (rent) + ~$1250 (insurance) + $360 (EMS) + ~$350 (food?) + ~$200 (port-o-johns for paddock) = ~$143/per. + tech inspection cost.

i think he said the max was 45 people. The total with out tech inpection is $6410 and divided by 45 people is about $142 and i guess the tech fee is 8 bucks so thats how he got 150 a person. So thats probably the cheapest it can be unless they raise the max number of people.

I can tell you right now that $150 is a pretty good deal. You want to come out with NASA (National Autosport Association) to DE and it's going to cost you $180 for the day or $280 for the weekend. I'm not knocking NASA (I'm the chief instructor) but that's just what it costs to rent a track; and with NASA we have 6-7 different run groups during a weekend and only 2 of them(beginner/advanced) are DE, the rest are race. You'll get 4, maybe 5, 20 minute sessions in a day with NASA. I'd be willing to bet you get a lot more track time at this event. You'll also normally have to drive to College Station or Houston for the two closest tracks. Just save your beer money...and go to the track!

OIC

might be a good idea to post on other sites a specific day together anyhow, I doubt there will be 45 people from this site alone willing to pay that much, just a thought

Thumbs up

That price is actually what I would be expecting If we can some more people from other Texas clubs to join in I think it will work. Not everyone will want to do it.
