Deciding on a Chip

I'm planning to get a chip for my car this week but am trying to figure out what the best option for me is. I have a 3.8 L V6 with a cold air intake, 4.10 rear end gears, and flowmaster dual exhaust. i'm trying to figure out the best chip i can get for the best price. I'm looking into possibly getting one of the SCT chips and am wondering peoples opinions on those and if that is the best option. What is the comparison with those to other chips. i got my lowest quoted price from a place for $400 for the chip and for them to send it to Superchips with all my car info to program it for me. What is everyones opinion on this?

X-Calibrator

I bought this flasher, and I'm very happy with it. It made a big difference in performance. My V6 car is a lot more aggressive. I got the flasher because all I had to do was plug the unit into the OBDII port and send the program into the computer. I also got the cable to link to my computer. It allows me to make changes myself (if I get different size rims/tires, change my gears, etc.) and avoid having to uninstall a chip and send it to the dealer for changes. I dropped about $410 for the complete system and am very happy with it. Be sure you get it from a good dealer. I got mine from velocity mustang performance. The guy there is very helpful. :jeff:

the v8 and the v6 chip market is different in that the v8 programmers for the most part aren't used to how v6's respond. fordchips.com has been bought by SCT and use their software still the last time i checked. talk to a guy over at v6power.net called justin00v6. he works for SCT now and has his own pretty stock '00 stang with general upgrades and a DIY twin turbo setup that now has him in the low 11's on a stock bottom end. he and a few others on that site are the foremost experts and can guide you properly. :jeff:
