I am the Great Cornholio, give me all your TP

He wasn't necessarily trying to scare you, however, shit could blow up. If you have too much timing in it and it pings it can easily burn a nice little hole in the piston or worse.

get it dyno tuned...every car is diffrent... less time like 4 will give you more response but not necessarilly more power, just like if you had a dist. car and bumped the timing up it feels sluggish at first but when it takes off it really takes off...my best advice is go get it tune that way you have th best of both worlds, more response and power!!!

It's LOUD but YOU looked!

I agree with 95 GTS. keep it at 5.
In general the 4.6 can handle 20-24 degress advance, but internal mods, along with fuel and great exhaust scavageing is needed to see any real power gains. also, if you did nothing to really raise your compression and going by your list you did not, keep at 89 octane and run the race fuel on race day. the higher octane keeps from pre detonating your fuel when your on the power stroke, thats it. high compression motors and or forced air need it due to intake heat. hence the intercooler. (for the basics) if you are needing help with a tune, use a scan tool or a data logger. what ever you do, don't guess. |
