DM Speed Cal

Any one have one installed on their 99-04?
Just bought the speedcal to compensate for the 4.10's.
Dallas mustang website shows a chart and a calculator to
determine the dipswitch settings for the speedcal.
The chart specifies to use dipswitch setting: 1010000001 for 4.10's.
Mustang Parts Online Restoration and Performance Superstore

however website also has a calculator where you input the tire width,
tire aspect ratio, and wheel diameter. I am getting dipswitch setting:
1001100011 (my rear has 285/40/18)

Which is right? IDK.... I really want to hook this up sometime today since
I'm off from work. If not I'll have to call DM on tuesday and postpone the
install until next weekend....

i would think the first code for the 4:10 due to that bein the biggest change in the car i mean tire size can effect the cars speedo and all but it would be a small diffrence unless ur runnin some super swampers lol

You don't have a hand held tuner??? That would have been the easy way..
I have one in mine, but only cuz it is a 96 and I could not hack the pcm for the adjustment with my gears, so I have the speed cal and it is 99.3 % accurate.

You may have to play with the switches a bit to be very close, just keep it in a location that is easy to access.

nah.... don't have a hand held tuner.... I was suppose to get a free-bee diablo hand held tuner from older brother but it didn't come through. I'm not too crazy about spending $450 for an additional 10 horsepower for a naturally aspirated 2 valve.....LOL well I'll see how accurate I can get the speedcal to work. I'll keep in mind to keep cal module in an easy access area. The directions indicate to place cal module under
shifter bezzle....

I have 3.73's in mine and I put the speed cal in a real easy location for install and accessibility. I put in behind the right front strut tower by the 40 way connector. I went from 2.73's to 3.73's and my speedo was off by at least 21 mph.

Set it to the 410 setting from the chart first. Then have someone drive along side you and see if it's off.

The chart is for stock wheel/tire combo, the calculator number will be correct for your set up. I have one when I installed the 4.30's, and using the calculator(18x9, 275-35-18) I am dead on.
