    Door Panel Trim

On my door panels it has the red panel on them.
It seems to be just glued on from factory, but has since came off. I tried using some spray adhesive a couple of times and it worked for quite some time.
Wondering if there is something better, since this will be the third time for it.
    Any ideas??

think part of the problem is the thin foam layer between the two. The first time the foam was on the leather? the second time it was on the door panel. This time its kinda on both in areas. I think I will clean all that off and see what happens.

I had the same problem about a year ago. I tried 4 different kinds of spray adhesive, all with negative results. I even took them to a local leather shop who said they couldn't do anything for me. Since the IUP versions are about $650 a piece from ford, I was going to purchase the standard all plastic ones and use the old ones as a template to cut out a hole for the shaker door subs, but wound up getting in touch with a guy on s197forum that had another set of the IUP panels. They are heavy and awkward though, which is why shipping was more than the cost of the panels. If these new (to me) panels start doing the same thing you better believe I will be getting the all plastic ones and making them work for me. Who cares about fake leather on your door if the part doesn't last?

gosh darn it! we are having the same issue with our 05's red leather.

I tried the 3m 77 spray and it failed. I switched up and used gorilla glue and that has worked in the area i tried it out on. I need to do the whole thing now.

I got the 3M vinyl adhesive. Haven't tried it yet though. will see.
I tried the 77 twice, and it lasted quite a long time, several months, almost a year I think. But not long enough.

My car had this problem going on when I bought it. It was actually going to be a deal breaker but they agreed if it kept peeling off they would get me a whole new door panel. The guy who glued mine back on used some sort of glue stick type glue. You need to make sure you scrub all that foam off and get it down to the blackish grayish surface. I can get you his contact info if you would like. Hes local here in Austin.

I have an 05 with red door panels as well.

The passenger side came loose. I bought like 4 tubes of superglue.. like 6 buck total.. Used a lot.. seems to be working great.

The hard part was making it smooth.

    this fix worked for me

I used DAP Weldwood Gel contact cement from Lowes (red quart can). The trick is to peal the leather off all the way arm rest and scrub off all of the foam on both the door liner and the leather. Once that's done, clean the surfaces with Isopropyl alcohol and let dry. Then apply the contact cement to both surfaces (leather and door panel) and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Most likely you will need to repeat this step twice as the materials are porous and the glue gets absorbed. After 2 applications and and the wait time, work the leather back up the door from the center toward the edges. Once you get to the edges, you will need to fold the leather back into the perimeter of the door panel. Make sure you get any glue off the visible surfaces before everything set up. Not sure on the minimum temperature this glue works at but I did ours when it was in the 80s. This fix has held up well for about 8 months with no issues.

    Hope this helps.

I have done this on my car and 2 buddies worked great. What I did was peal the panel down knock off al the foam. Then with some contact cement I spread it evenly on both surfaces. Let it sit for about 20 minutes then reapply. Then just stick the panel back on evenly making sure its gonna be where it should. Just make sure you get the edges good or it will do the same thing.

Hope that helps some people. And if your worried about the smell getting in your car it only stays in for a couple hours and goes away.
