drag radials

Anyone know how the stock clutch holds up to drag radials at the strip? I have 4:10s gears and thought about gettin some drag radials to play with every now and then.

fine. I run 275/40/17 MT ET streets at the track and its fine. Ive only made about 7-10 passes with them and my 4.10s at a crappy track and dumped the clutch at 3K-4K and spun like crazy but again track prep wasnt the best.

With good track prep, if you Dump the clutch with DR's and are on stock axles, you will most like break a axle depending on how high of an Rpm you dump from...

ouch that would suck... I'm just dissapointed in my new tires. I was getting 2.0 60ft times with the stock tires a few months ago and now with my 285's i'm getting 2.2-2.3. Of course it was hot and humid outside when I ran last week and I also have the eibach springs pro kit now so I doubt it's transferring the weight like it was. Anyway, I've been driving my car like I stole it since I bought it anyway so I'm not too worried. I was just curious if my clutch or rear end would handle the repeated abuse of DRs. I don't go to the track every week, but when I do, I'd like a little more traction!

Haven't heard of that happening with mildly modded s197's.
The 31spline axels upgrade has gone a long way.

I had 500+ passes on my stock axles and rear on slicks and DRs.

I could never ever dump the clutch on drag radials. There was a technique to it that must be perfected. My best on nittos was 1.76. I consistantly got 1.8-1.82s on completely stock 10 year old suspension.

Nittos liked 15 psi, not 14!

Et streets liked 12 fully heated
