*DUW*Track DAY! err night welll you get the idea.

Well a couple of friends from STMC, our gracious Mod: MACHINE here on the Southern Board and I went to the local dragstrip. For the record it's as stock as you can get 1989 Mustang Convertible AOD with 2.73 rear and 245/45/17 tires on some heavyMotorsport rims (look like the '00 Cobra R but 17' and have machines recesses in them)

I have to say it was TONS better then my first epxerience almost got into a fight with this drunk guy and his chick.

Well anyways I layed down a blisterin 16.1 as my best time. !!! Hoooray for me. Reaction times were better as the night went started out on a .821 then to a .361 then to a .221 reaction time.
Best time was a asphalt Rippin .221light/16.139sec/86.405mph.
I really spooked a 00' firechicken when I cut that light. Of course he won by about 2-3 car lengths

OH well. There's always next time

and some more still..

Abel's good side...

It was supposed to have been Mods vs Rods 2, a continuation of the first competition between modular and pushrod engines. Unfortunately, only 2 mods showed up and neither wanted to race heads up. Much respect to those cars though, as both ran in the mid-to-low 12's.

Thanks to Juan, Abel, Steve, Romeo, Frank, Agapito, Tami and everyone else that showed up...

you and Abel (red 92 GT with a Cobra spoiler) would have a good matchup, methinks. I don't know who might be heading out there tonight...

Steve's (White vert with Vortech S-Trim) should definitely be in the low 13's, if not 12's...

HAHA I was definately overexcited because I really read that wrong.
Saluting is not a problem I have. SChwing!
Unfortunately it seemed like the mexican mob was out in force so we couldn't
get too friendly with the females out there. That and most of them have boyfriends so... for the better part of discretion (read: didn't feel like pickin a fight or gettin a crowbar to the ribs so) we just raced.

LOL! TRY BEING ME! I walked to my car to get my camera out of the car... and as I walked through the pits it seemed like EVERY male that I passed turned and looked... I was just like not paying attention... the next time I had to go to my car I made Rocky walk with me... helped the situation a little bit.

I would have raced Frank for the third time, but he still owes me some Nachos from our previous races.

Nice pics guys! My son and I really enjoyed that night out, it was really cool. Not very many people out there so gave everyone a good chance to let there cars cool down and make some nice runs. Can't wait to go back but with some slicks. Watch out Mel!
