The FMS letter cams were the shit 15 years ago . Now days there are many better choices but they cost a little more . I know BHAM on here claims to have ran high 12's on a bone stock 302 with a custom flat tappet cam . I would think a cam similiar in a hydraulic roller grind should run even better .
I ran 12.81 at 106 on an flattened out old e303 with 1.7s, bone stock heads, and boltons

what would i suggest for stock heads? a stock cam! retarded with a gt40 family intake or performer.

not an rpm, not a typhoon, not a trick flow.

Yeah you always hear about these cars but I haven't seen too many of them around myself . My neighbors car weighs 2900 lbs with driver , has a F cam in it , GT40 intake , ported stock heads , MAC 1 5/8 LT's , T5 , 4.30 gear and after market suspension in the rear . The best we've been able to get with the car is 13.60's at about 97 mph .

OMG? what does it dyno? can I come drive it?

My 12.81 was at 2945 (3110w/ me) on a 1.80 60' 5500k dump on slicks. Stock suspension all around and the slicks were old enough they spun through the 60'. 3.73s pullies, prom 77, bbk ELs. ORH, Spintechs, home depot coldair. stock computer a/f flat as a board at 13.1
dynoed 246/290 at PSI, i may still have the dyno online if anyone wants to see the curve of an e cam with 1.7s on completely stock heads.

yeah, you dont see very many at all. Its not an easy feet and it takes everything being setup just right and ususally the downfall is the tune, traction or driver

I have no idea what it dynos but am guessing not a whole lot . The car 60's 1.8's but is done about 5000 rpms or so . I cranked the timing up to 17 int. and thats where it seemed to run the best . I told him the cam is probably hurting him more than helping him but it was in the car and he likes the way it sounds with it so its staying for now I guess .

I think he could get more with a tuned chip but he's barely able to afford the payment on the car and to add little things here and there right now .

I sold him the car cheap so he's not looking for something super expensive . Over all its a good solid start , he just needs to spend his money in the right spots .

I'd start with a stock cam installed and retarded. That should work out to be freeish.

Then tune that mofo at least with a afpr on a dyno.

does it even have a MAF? it should be able to make 260/300 and with 4.30s and that weight should be a 12 second car.

of course you know that

It does have a MAF from a 94 Gt on it . It had a stock MAF but we went with the larger one since I had it and was told the transfer was the same on it as the older ones .

<~~~e-cam w/ iron heads, explorer intake, 19# squirtrs, gears, small slicks, 12.69@ 107 3100# car,
I have new valvesprings and bigger injectors now, I "should" run quicker, but who knows.

I personally hate the tfs cams, I just never seen any good #'s with them, but to each his own.

Well come to find out my buddies car had a MAF sensor issue . We changed it out and what a difference . Before it sounded like a souped up tug boat but now it actually has some decent throttle response . I'd bet it will run 13.3's at least now on the engine and hopefully some low 12's or high 11's on the dope .

His car had went 13.7's before he pulled the heads off to port them . We installed the SN95 MAF when he put it back together and it only dropped a .1 off his time . It sounded weaker too . Now with the factory sensor on the SN95 housing , it sounds a hell of a lot better . Hopefully his car can pick up a few miles per hour and drop some significant time off his previous ET's .

whats funny is how shitty tfs cams work with tfs heads.

the most consistantly low numbers i see using twisted wedges are with a TFS cam.

however, a tfs 1 works pretty alright with a set of regular ported gt40s.

Yeah I have noticed the TFS stage 1 cam doesn't work very well with the head its suppose to be matched to . IMO , neither does the street heat intake .

We did that whole package deal with the street heats , intake and cam on a 302 and it ran like water . I think the best the guy could get out of it was a high 12 . This was in a early 90's 5 spd hatch with some 3.73's and slicks .
