electric superchargers

Sooo....Ive been reading about electric superchargers/turbos...

All you do is hook up to 12v source install it into your intake (CAI required) - anybody heard of this or know some of the results?? Could be a good thingfor us poor 6ers.

They are developing them for hybrids and electric cars to compete with gasoline cars- thought it might be a good addition to any car

Any ideas or comments???

Thanks,

James232v6

it would probably give you just as much boost as the "leaf blower s/c"

the "tornado" things don't do crap. if anything, it impedes flow at higher velocities. i looked for about 20 minutes trying to find the legitimate electric supercharger thread on another forum, but i came up dry. he's using a roots blower to use electric "shots" of boost like n2o. even if it was sold at half the price, i'd rather either have n2o OR a blower, not an in-between system.

Most of those things don't even flow enough CFM to support a stock engine. The really expensive ones might give ya 1 or 2 pounds of boost, but not enough to be worth it.
