Do they do the sniffer test here in San Antonio or pull codes of any sorts?? (no MILs, so i will just unhook the battery for 30 mintues to clear the SES light right before i take it to get inspected) Im wondering if it is worth it to try and get inspected w/ the o/r x still on the car. If they catch the pipe, will they put any type of 'failed' sticker on the car, like some of the other anal states? i took my car to get inspected last year right before i put the xpipe on when it was just the Flows for exhaust and they didnt even look under the car. During the whole inspection, they never even started the car or took it for a drive. Im hoping if i take it to the same place, they wont start it or drive it again.

Depends on where you take it. I do know that unplugging the battery for 30 minutes wont help. Yes, it will clear the ses, but if they check the codes, it will show that the computer is not ready since it hasnt been thru enough drive cycles.
Just take it to the southside.

i know the dumb computer stores it, but if i clear the light, then they might not have reason to pull codes

Last time I had my car inspected, there was no emissions test.

I don't think San Antonio does anything but check the blinkers, brake lights, wipers, and headlights.

They are required to do a visible inspection for emissions. If they don't see cats, they will fail you. Some places do this, some places don't.
Last time I tried to get mine inspected, they refused to do it. Had a friend take the car somewhere else and get it done, but I don't know where he took it.

They bust balls here in Jersey. They will fail you for a little rust around the gas cap. I just passed the emissions test last July by the skin of my teeth. Only good thing is you only have to go through every two years. Most folks around here will go through with cats, pass and then take them off. Do you have state inspection centers or just local garages that do the test ?

my dad once got inspection sticker to his 52 chevy truck, without even taking the truck, all u need is license and insurance, but i think thats illegal

On my chevy....im running headers true duals into flows dump right under the bed.....the guy just looked and said....u got mufflers?? i was like yep...he was like ok....in SA they just want the 12 bucks...place i go to the guy will even put the sticker on for you....just make sure u have insurance and your lights work. :jeff:

We have small inspection stations that you can go to but those people are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to anal about everything. Most auto shops and garages do them also. You can usually find some half ass tire shop on the south side that will give you the sticker and only check the lights and wipers, if that much. Besides that, there's usually someone on the boards that can help somebody out with a hookup to a location.
