ET times

I ran a few months ago at SAR and ran 13.53 at 105 with 2.0 60ft. I just went again recently and couldn't break 13.9 at 103 with 2.2-2.3 60ft times. I know the humidity was way up and the weather hotter, but wtf? Before I was running stock tires and springs, and now I have eibach pro kit and aftermarket wheels/tires with 285s in the rear. Could the springs really have screwed up the weight transfer that much or was it combination of weather and that? I would have kicked ASS at bracket racing, but I'm fustrated that it dropped that much, especially considering I was racing my buddy's turbo rice AWD subaru and lost by 2 tenths the entire night. Not looking to have a track car, but would like times to get a little faster, not 4 tenths slower after a few changes. Guess I'm just gonna have to put a Kenne Belle on it! One last thing to mention is I noticed that night that a lot of cars were not hookin up outta the hole so maybe the track wasn't quite there as well. Couple of 'em almost hit the wall that night!

yes the weather is worse, and yes the springs hurt your 60s. Launching isnt a consistant thing if you only track your car every few months.

after market wheels are heavier and slow you down mostly in the launch and 1/8th mile. That coupled with your springs craeted yoru problem.

You can combat this by getting Drag radials (nittos will do fine) and some good upper and lower control arms. If you go adjustable and have them set for you, you will really notice the difference and could probably get the car to a 13.0-13.3 at 105 when the cooler weather rolls back aruond.

what about lighter than stock wheels but larger diameter for example

my Stock cobra wheels 17x8 = 24 lbs
my 18x8.5 BBS's =18.5 lbs

will that hurt or help?

All depends on tire height.A taller tire
is like changing the rear gears.

Example,not to scale but close.
26.5 tall with 3.73 vs 28.0 tall would be
like you had 3.55s with the 26.5s

you are also moving all of the weight to the outer part of the wheel and further away from center so it might just even out.

Look at your stock tire weight as well versus the 18s you run now. look for lighter tires when you shop next time. They will vary by about 1-5 pounds
