Exhaust choice for the '85

so im torn..

i know im going Lts, with a straight pipes. the question is...

Cheery bombs bumped
Macs dumped

iv heard both..and they both sound killer.. im torn
cherry bombs(catted i believe)

i wouldn't use either....I had dumps and they are crazy crazy loud.....not worth it...just get the mac catback...

Both sound awesome but the macs have a lot of pop when they let off the throttle

Don't you dare put cherry bombs on that thing.

A bunch of people are going to recommend Flowmasters cuz it gives 5.0's that "classic" 5.0 Mustang sound.. I'd do something different. Heck, buy those Bassani mufflers from Jody. Bassani equipped 5.0's sound nice!

The owner of the shop I always went to back home was heavy into AutoX and road racing. He has an '82 GT that's carb'd, also. He has full Bassani exhaust from the headers back and that car sound amazing. I've never heard another 5.0 like it.

your car is not gonna sound like the one in the macs clip, sorry

i had LT's, X pipe, and flows.....quiet till i got on it, but did have a nice little rumble at idle.

That's why when looking at mufflers, one has to be able to differentiate between chambered, baffled, glass lined, resonated, and straight through designs. Each one produces a distinct note and the mid pipe has a major effect both ways, be it X, H, box & catted or not. Pipe diameter is another factor. Believe it or not 2 1/4" and 2 1/5" make different notes too as well as tip diameter and length.
