exhaust leak
i think it is an exhaust leak. most exhaust leaks i've heard are a ticking noise. but mine is more of a putt putt putt. car sounds like shit,runs like it to. you can hear it at idle and when your driving. i already took off my x-pipe checked to see if it had little cracks in it. then put it back on and tightened the shit out of all the bolts. please help if you can guys

Where does it sound like it is leaking from more? On the passenger side, where the x meats the manifold is the most prone spot for leaks.

did you recently do any work on the exhaust to cause it to start leaking?
put on an off-road pipe? yeah I'd check the passenger metal gasket between manifold and x.

no i had all this already on it. saturday i woke up started it and it sounded like shit. so i was like WTF. it was good friday. you think it was caused over reving it? cause i got pissed at the wife so i was reving so i couldn't hear her.

unlikely reving it loosened something up.... perhaps you lightly grazed a speed bump recently just enough to open a leak where x pipe joins with your cat back?
