Exhaust opinions

I am looking at either Pypes or Flowmaster. axlebacks.

Does anyone have either of these two mufflers on a completely stock car?

Do they sound good? Opinions?
I like the price of the Pypes, and the flows are right about in the same range. I know there are other brands, but they cost alot more. So, I can't do Bassani or Magnaflow or whatever I don't want to spend $500 on mufflers.
Thanks

I have had the pypes muffler, gta mufflers, and ford borla stingers at one point in time. Never had flowmaster though. What type of sound are you looking for? have you listened to clips on youtube.com?

I don't want to wake the neighbors or tell every cop in ten blocks that my car is on, but if I do hammer down, I want to hear it. Most all of them state "deep throaty sound"
I said "deep throat", anyway. Not terribly loud, I did try taking off the mufflers and driving that way, too loud and not a good sound.

well so far i have yet to find an axle back setup that i like. out of the ones i had, the ford racing stingers was the best and pypes was last. i have heard bassani full exhaust, borla full exhaust, etc. im gonna post before and after of my swtich from axle back to inline. Also its the cheapest out of the bunch. Its gonna cost me like 250 for mufflers, tips, and install, which is way less than any axle back setup i have seen other than the pypes.

what didn't you like about the pypes?
I heard SLP loudmouths, its too loud. Flows don't sound too bad on the youtube.
Bassani it about the sound i like, but too much $$

I have the BORLA Stingers and love the sound. It's tame on the highway, but insane when at heavy throttle. I have Flow Delta 40's on my 65 coupe and love them, but that flow sound is for a different era.

I ended up with the flowmasters, and I really like the sound. Just loud enough and deep sounding. Next I might try an or/h pipe.

I have dual flowmasters and bassani x. My car is pretty loud and has a raspy sound. I like the raspy alot of peeps don't. Just doing flowmaster to me it still wasn't loud enough.

I Bought my MACS for $200 used in perfect condition. To me they sound awesome. Go on brenspeed.com and they have a lot of different setups with sound clips so you can hear what each one sounds like. But if you are trying to stay within a budget, go used . Check out the classifieds on here or craigslist.com, that's where I found mine. As well as my CAI.
