shouldve just posted this in the other thread you started, BUT to answer your ?, theres not a whole lot of diff in a six whether you go with an h or an x, some people say the x sounds raspier but our cylinders fire equally unlike the 8s, so we dont really need a crossover pipe. i would go hi flow cats, to keep it legal in texas but plenty of people dont

X usually makes more power and H is deeper, but like stated above there isnt much difference on the 6s. Id go With an O/R pipe just my $.02

i would personally go with an o/r h (probably cuz thats what i plan on getting lol) because they have one on jegs thats like $130, but remember with o/r you also have to get MIL elminators, or a tuner to turn off your rear 02 sensors

Build you a custom crossover pipe. I've done it before. It was a pain in the ass and it took a while but it sounded good.

X pipes usually make more hp while H pipe makes more torque. Stick with a crossover pipe on a V6.

^ on a v8, because of the uneven firing of the cylinders, but a sixxer fires evenly so it doesnt need a crossover pipe, so all it accomplishes is sound, no diff in hp or tq as apposed to a split system from the headers back

No sir, I worked at a muffler shop for about 3 years. Thankfully my brother still works there and he hooks me up with welding mufflers and piping.

Do not get the X pipe with stock exhaust manifolds, it will sound raspy bad. I personally wouldn't even do an exhaust setup with the stock manifolds on a v6, longtube headders make it sound so much better. My current setup sounds pretty good, longtubes O/R X pipe flow super 40's and magnaflow 3" tips

Shizzle, do you have pacesetter lts, those are the only ones I can find for the sixxer

I'm pretty sure he has the mac lt's. The pacesetters fit like crap (so i've heard). I also have the mac lt's. Lets see if I can find the link for you...

Edit: Heres the link to the mac website. The more expensive of the 2 for your year is the ceramic coated lt's. http://www.macperformance.com/store/...ategory_ID=474

Edit again: Here's the link to stangmods-- http://www.stangmods.com/Mustang-V6-Headers-s/161.htm

Final edit: This guy is selling his lt's. I think they are for a 99-00, but I'm not sure. http://3.8mustang.com/forum/showthre...ng+tube&page=1

thanks, but i decided to get gears and a tuner before i do anything else with my exhaust since thats going to be more of a sound mod than anything else

compared to gears, they are a sound mod, but don't put the lt's off too much or you will regret it!

btw: any other v6's in here looking to go for long tubes. there are 99-00 lt's for sale (used-- link posted above) and an o/r H for sale (used-- on 3.8musatng.com) so you could get everything for a pretty decent deal!

I would advise against an X-pipe and/or off-road pipes. the 3.8 V6s sound horrible without cats, and an x-pipe generally make it sound even worse.

I ran the stock cats, h-pipe, and flows on my old 2000 V6 and I thought it sounded decent. low, not too raspy.

I'm running longtubes, high-flow race cats, x-pipe, and jba axle-back on my '07 4.0 V6, but the 4.0s sound different than the 3.8s
