F/S: 1973 Chevy PickUp PROJECT $500

(This was on eBay, but I am sick of stupid people wanting a 2008 Lexus for $500!)
1973 Chevy Step Side PickUp
1/2 ton, clear title
InLine 6, with 3-on-the-Tree

Bought in 2003 as a project for my then-13-year old son ... the project never progressed very far -- So it needs a new home.

New master cylinder and all new calipers, so it stops on a dime!

It's 35 years old, so don't start asking about options, or cosmetic things ... THIS IS A PROJECT VEHICLE!

Body has it's fenders and pieces pretty much intact. (See pictures for specific pieces, dents, etc.) Ask for more pictures if you want to see something specific, as I can eMail them to you or post up more.

Starts, runs and drives. A few years ago, I drove it to work a few times! It was road-worthy in 2004, but I've not messed with it in a couple years. Drove it the other day ... the gas is stinky now.

Needs someone who is looking for a project. Rod knock, choke is sticky, lots of superficial (surface) rust, and those kinds of thing.
Rear end seems good, 3-on-the-Tree (3 speed, column shifter with a manual transmission) seems good, lights worked last time I had it out in the dark (2004), etc.

If you can tinker, rebuild or insert a block, and do some body work ... it should be a fun project.

The InLine 6 is an EASY engine to work on and all the parts are cheap and plentiful. LMC has a catalog dedicated to old Chevy trucks and is a great resource!

Remember it is an OLD pickup and a PROJECT-quality vehicle.

Vehicle is located in Converse, Texas, with a zipcode of 78109 (but if you are MapQuest'ing it, try Selma, TX 78154, that might be closer). It can be seen/heard any evening after about 7 p.m. -- PM me and I'll send you my actual address and cell phone number.

Oh, yes! The seats are VERY HEATED....when you drop your match into the dog hair on the floorboard! LOL! <poof>

I think there were two Chivy sixers ... a 260 and a 292 or something like that .... I have the shop manuals for it ... and was willing to learn, but my kiddo finked out on me. :-\

Thanks for the well wishes!
