Took the headliner and visors to the upholstery shop to be redone in matching vinyl to the door panels.
It was at biffs in early Jan. Ill take it out again as soon as I get plates and insp.

Havent taken any more pics but I got the bar finished and seat belt brackets welded in.
Finished resoing all the interior peices today they turned out pretty nice.
Gauges will be ordered in a couple days so I can install those and finish up the interior.

Yup J I feel good about what I have done so far. At least I can say i did it all and if anyone doesnt like something I can ask um where they were when i was putting whatever together to offer there assistance and or advice at the time. OK, so some of the interior parts are trickling in .... got the newly re-covered headliner and sun visors back, got the door panels re-covered, and Don has been working on the interior plastic pieces to get them lookin' good ... he painted the roll bars, but still has the nerf to pick up for 'em.
Carpet is still on its way. And it still has the passenger seat over on the driver's side ... so this isn't the finished product yet! (Like it will ever be actually finished-finished! LOL!)

are you installing them to the cluster bezel or behind it? I had the ultra series gauges in my '81 yrs ago on the bezel itself. they weren't at a good angle of reading them while driving.

Well sorta into it but not really. Im makeing an alum flat panel overlay for thhe dash and installing um in basically the same posistions but just into the alum pc. I am most likely going to order some offset bezels once I get that part fabed up. As you mentioned I noticed by holding them sorta in place in my pattern board that they could use a little tilt to be more easily readable.

The machinist for the aluminum face plates for the dash is making progress - they had to come over to take a couple additional measurements yesterday! Many thanks to T&T Fabrication!!
The carpet arrived the other day, and has been "relaxing" in the sunshine for a couple days - hopefully we'll get it in today or tomorrow!
And the framework for the rear seat delete is progressing pretty well! It will end up wrapped in matching grey carpet. The spare has a matching Mach rim, so it will be "displayed" through the hatch ...

I most like the stress test for the Cooler Insertion ... that was the true test of whether or not the back deck was what we wanted!! LOL!
Carpet is almost all the way in - it has a little more "relaxing" to do before we pin it down with trim panels, but it all seems to fit pretty well so far! There are a variety of greys in there - but they really aren't as different as the pictures show... the pictures really make the differences stand out!!
We tossed in the seats, console, and Don's custom shifter ... enjoy the pix!

Well the velcro could work for something that would sit. But if he's gonna drive this thing like it's meant to be driven, I think the hinge is a much better option to keep everything where it should be and not bouncing around.That is the hinge he originally wanted to use - I had suggested a smaller and much longer one... All the interior is the original 85 stuff recovered/repainted except the seats from Tracis 96. All the upholstery was redone by some friends who do Aircraft interiors. The rear delete has a few more tweaks to go on to it but overall it is what it is. Does what I wanted covers up the rear area and battery gives me a little stash spot for stuff and adds a little individuality to the car. Carpet is en route to cover it with and a little black paint on the exposed insides and it should be a ok.

I got the majority of them wired/hooked up. Just got the ammetter and gas gauge to get done. It was just setting in there in those pics. Got the seat belts installed today as well.

all in an functioning short of dash lights which is just a matter of finding the correct hot lead to hook um too. The I need to pick up some small idicator lights to use for high beam and turn signals. All the auto meters are wired in independently.
I think it looks bad ass.
