well ya gotta find out what system you have overall to know everything about it, but the other button is probably a valet button or something...im sure somebody will chime in and explain it all to you...

when i would mess with my factory alarm the only thing i really learned about it was that there is a box under your dash usually that can control the sensitivity of the alarm...

Yeah, I have had the car for 7 months already and it drives me crazy, I dont know the first thing about this "factory alarm" It doesnt make and chirping noises when I lock it with the remote and I think if u whacked it with a bat it still wouldnt go off.

well get under the dash one day its a pretty obvious module and i remember mine having a big ford logo on it. theres a little knob you can turn on it to change the sensitivity

from teh sounds of it your alarm may be in a silent mode or valet mode, but usually factory alarms arent upgraded that much

do the lights at least flash when you hit thte button to activate it?

You need to figure which one that you have if you want to figure out how to work it. Or you can have it removed so you dont have it at all.

It already has PATS, so its a major PITA to start. It wont protect the property inside tho. So all you really need is a shock sensor and siren. If you just wanna buy a good alarm system go with Lo-Jack.

Cool, I will check out which one it is in the morning, I'll try to squeeze my large self under there. All I know is it is the one that blinks if the car is on or off or maybe when ever the battery is even removed. I dont know haha

well places like circuit city and best buy carry them and install them, but if you want custom stuff done you have to go somewhere else...

they can be pretty pricy, but you can buy the remote start module by itself now and for a while it was only available in full alarms, they can go pretty cheap now from what i remember...try going on to DEI website, they make viper, clifford etc i dunno if it shows prices or not but you can get part numbers then look on best buy and circuit city websites

i put a bulldog alarm on mine. i turned the sensitivity all the way up and if you breathed on it, it went off. but it doesnt come with the fancy cellphone like remote, it just has a 4 button operation. but i bought it brand new for $150. and bulldog makes some cheaper than that, mine was 150 cuz i bought the remote start module with it.
