    FailSafe Engine Mode?

So i was driving down Babcock after PT going about 50 when my RPM's suddenly shot down to 1500. When this happened my dash read "FailSafe Engine Mode", and after that i couldnt go above 35 MPH the rest of the way home....any ideas on what this is or what is causing this? Any input is welcome because i am at an absolute loss..

Check the basics first, coolant level, check Tune if you have one, check for loose or unplugged connections, hook up a scanner and try to pull any stored codes.

Any mods or is it completely stock?

Its got an offroad X-Pipe, Ford Racing Axle-Backs, 62mm Throttle Body, BBK cold air intake, 4.10 gears and does have a tune.

I hooked my tuner up and here are the codes it is running:
    P0354 - Ignition coil switch D Primary/Secondary circuit
    P0356 - Ignition coil switch F Primary/Secondary circuit
    P061B - Unknown
P2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Limited Power

    Does that help at all?

The first 2 indicate the coils on cylinders number 4 and 6 are dead/shorted. Did you wash your engine/get it wet?

The last 2 may be related to the CAI. Try reflashing to stock to test after you check replace the coils.

Are the coils an expensive fix?

Check them first to make sure they are not wet or have moisture in the bore.

The test procedure can be found here:

    http://www.f150forum.com/f6/how-test-coil-pack-17249/

Autozone has them for 39.99, but they are Duralast brand, although I would rather get oem Motorcraft .

Check with racer99, he can get you good pricing on oem brands. He is at McCombs Ford West 410/Culebra .

Just dropped it off at Max V for them to take a look at it. This is way out of my expertise. If i need new coils i will deffinetly give racer99 a holler. Thanks for the help man. Hopefully nothin is to awefully wrong with it.
