I'm probably gonna get a lot of bad responds to this but there it goes.I was wondering why some of these people fix up these really nice mustangs, they do so much work to them, and the majority of them look so good. But, then they go and put a cobra badge, grill, hood, etc on it. WHY? i know your supposed to do whatever to your car but why? they do so much to paint and fix it up and then they go and do something totally not cool. If it's not a cobra then don't fake it. a cobra owner will be able to tell right off hand, they know what to look for. I was just wondering why. then some say, well cobras aren't all that, they're not that fast. mine isn't the fastest on the planet by a long shot, so then why do people put on fake badges if they're not so cool? not trying to start shit, just a question. if it's a gt, cobra, mach, saleen etc etc, leave it. i have seen some really nice ones that keep it true. some are gonna think i'm a douchebag for writing this but, it was just my view, no disrespect or whatever. yes, my car can get her ass handed to me by gt's etc etc, but as a cobra owner, there's nothing that pisses me off more than to see a fake snake on the road, especially when they rev at me! haha! it took forever to find mine, and so i take great pride in her. just my opinion. if i offended anyone, sorry!

I have cobra wheels on my stang. Does that count as faking it out? and yes they still have the SVT center caps on them. And Im currently trying to look for a 99-01 cobra front bumper. You ask why. I say, because I want to and I can. I like the cobra look. I didnt buy a cobra when I bought my GT because I didnt want pay the 8000 dollar difference back then. I wish I did now though.

thats wut i mean. u don't badge it which is cool. the wheels cool, bumper etc cool. i love the saleen wheels but am afraid to put them on cause of all the stuff listed up there. but no that's totally different. parts is cool but badging it is what i meant. good point you brought up! and the 2nd part, the price, thats what i meant also. i had to go to boerne and pay the difference between a gt. that's why i mentioned the pride thing.man, u brought up good points!

^Theres your answer buddy. Some people do it cause they simply just like the look and want one.

As long as they do it CORRECTLY where it isnt a half as job and doesnt make an original cobra owner look bad, and they have no problem saying "yes it is a clone" and not lieing about it then i dont have a problem with it. But thats just me.

So what makes it different becasue ford put the parts on there?? and why is it ok to put other items but no badges. I mean ford put those specific wheels on teh cobra and charged you more money. WHy is it not ok for badges?

i agree, if its done right and it's a clone cool. if they admit if a clone, even cooler.but i've seen dudes that get mad when i call em out on it. then they say urs is fake, until i pop the hood....and the silence commences!

I didnt buy a cobra...but i not claim mine to be a cobra either. I could have bought a used 03/04 cobra for the same i paid for mine...or even better got a 97-01 cobra for even cheaper...but i didnt want one. I dont care about having a piece of paper on a Daily Driver because its gonna depreciate just like mine.

lol im not mad at all. I could have bought a 03/04 cobra but i like how comfortable the s197s are. i also could have afforded a gt500 but i dont want a car like that as a daily driver. and being 21 the insurance would be kinda crazy.

they all have their pros/cons. its all about how im feeling that day. I have a GT500 rear spoiler on my car. but thats because i like the way it looks compared to the stock spoiler. Now if ford would have alot more options other than stock or cobra i might go with something different. I have people all the time that think mine is a cobra, especially since i got the stripes but i always correct them and tell them its a v8 gt.

see and that's why your cool in my opinion. i've had douchebags start talking cause i ask them if it's a real cobra. but i agree, yours if awesome looking. bet that red gets a lot of cops! originally wanted a red, or blue w/ white striped cobra.see, and you admit it's a gt, like i said nothing worse than a liar revving at me or swearing to god it is, when i know it isn't

and as much as i LOVE THE SNAKES, I personally would never put them on a non-cobra. However i wont bash a guy too hard for doing it. I see v6s puting gt emblems all the time also. I dont agree with it however they are paying for the car and the emblems so there is no law against it.

ps adrian those rims look FNSWEET on yoru car. i normally dont liek those but look GREAT on your car!!

no law of course, but they should have the decency to admit that it's a clone/fake. most won't, you know, they act hard at the light/street/ etc. and no i don't bash em, i just ask. it's when they give me attitude or say mines a fake, thats when i get cocky.but i appreciate mine cause i did 4 years overseas w/ no car, so i am a bit more appreciative.
