Air/Fuel Ratio

Before I upgraded, I had a cold air kit from MAC performance on my Stang for awhile and had the same problem. Just a shot in the dark are you stil using your factory MAF. If not the Air tube might not be set in the exact center of the MAF you are using. I replaced my Straight Shot cold air system with one that uses the factory MAF and never had another problem.

From my understanding anything with a bend after the MAF sensor will screw up the reading so if your CAI is like that then i would switch, thats what i did with mine, i switched back to good old stocker with a K&N filter i see no point in a cold air when your gonna spray the bitch.

Actually, either way can if it interrupts laminar flow within the MAF housing.

How can you tell that your A/F is off? Is the CAI the ONLY modification you made?

TJ

Edit: I just saw it has been more than two weeks and he has not responded to anyone...

well there must be a bend after the MAF for it to be able to go into the throttle body.

True. I should have been more specific as well. The problem is how close the bend is to the MAF, not which side. If the post MAF bend is further down, it is not a problem.

On the Cobras, some guys were using kits that move the MAF closer to the TB. They found the same problems as guys with bends in front of the MAF. If the air starts to tumble or swirl in a bend, it is going to interrupt the laminar flow before and after the bend. Sometimes you can mask the problem by clocking the MAF, but the uneven airflow is still there...
