Fellow Mustang fan in need of advice

Hey guys I know I don't own a 5.0 Mustang but I have a question for ya... My buddy has a 95 Mustang GT 5.0 automatic and he was thinkin about gettin some gears to improve his 15.1 1/4 time.. I recently switched my stock gears out of my 2003 GT and put in the 3.73's. What Im wondering will it be worth it for him to install the 3.27 gears that I had stock into his car or would he be better off getting the 3.50's or 3.73's? He is worried about gas mileage bc his gets like 14/16mpg.. Im thinkin the 3.27s will help mpg and even the 3.73s, cause I improved my city mileage and sacrificed only 2mpg for highway.. So what do yall think?
Thanks for the help and advice in advance guys!

His car should get around 20 mpg with 3.73s, they would also be the best choice of gears for that car. I had a '95, it did a best of 20.91 mpg if I remember correctly, most of the time it got 19 something to a little over 20 mpg. Of all of my 5.0s that t'95 got the worst fuel mileage, most of the others would get 24 to 28 mpg. I got very close the same mileage with the 3.08s as it did with the 3.73s. The best mileage I got out of it was with the 3.73s, but that was most likely because I only drove the car for a couple of weeks with the 3.08s, before I changed the gears. My car got a best of 14.2 at 98 mph on the brakes with common street tires the one time I took it to HRP, I would be it would have gone 13.9s had I spent some time trying to improve my ET. The only run I got was the first round of a bracket race and I broke out, I did not get a chance to make any runs before elemenations so I gessed at what it would run and it turned out to be quicker than I thought.
The current combo is an '85 coupe with 302 bored and stroked to 364, Ported Twisted Wedge heads and a BXR intake, A9M ECM with a Moates chip, Doug Nash 5 spd, 4.56 gears, Hoosier 275/60/15 drag radials.
Daily driver '89 GT 302 stock block, crank, rods and pistons, ported GT-40P heads with stock valves, Ported Explorer intake, B302 cam, Z spec T5, 3.73 gears, Moates chip and no traction. Made 325 whp and 325 wtq.

i put 3.27's in my foxbody, had 3.08's, performance wise it was no improvement really, not worth the work.
