FINALLY!!! The day is coming!!

I am finally on assignment and will finally be making my way back to the good ole US of A. Been a long 4 yrs here in Germany/Iraq and I am ready to come home. I will be stationed at Ft Sam Houston. The best is that I will be coming back home to Texas!!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't get much better than that!

I should be there in Aug.

I am MI so I believe at this point I will be with the 470th MI. Of course like everything in the Army that is subject to change. I should be getting my orders within the next week or so.

@ Scottyboy, Heidelberg is "the sh!t" as you put it. I was here as a dependent from 94-99, then went to the states, joined the Army, and ended up being stationed here myself. It was much better as a dependent since I was able to explore and enjoy it at my leisure. Not so this time around. I will always love Germany but with everything going on in the middle east right now it just isn't worth it now. You just don't stick around long enough (in Germany) to get to enjoy it much. Plus there are no prepped tracks around here to run your car on, so I am looking forward to a change of scenery.

You sound like Scott... he was in Germany as a dependant and then went there when he joined!

I work for the medical folks. I'm at the local hospital's (BAMC) higher headquarters.

Yeah, I have heard that this assignment is pretty kick @ss!! Can't wait to find out!! After the 4 yrs of hell I have had here I am ready for a change.
