BBK bends one of the pipes pritty bad to clear the stearing shaft. that looks like horse dudu... Pypes and CAM headers dont bend them, they made the pipe go around the shaft. I dont know the exact gains because I didnt dyno after the install, and I installed pullies, gears, CAI, intake manifold, and a catback all at the same time. So my gains were great. then I installed VT stage 2 cams. and it sounds sweat.

Ive installed Mac heads, BBK heads, Bassani headers CAM headers and I have to say that BBK would be the last headers I would buy. Bassani the first if I had the cash. Plus BBK headers hang supper low to the ground. everyone that I know with BBK headers and lowerd, have them all banged up. My headers dont have a single scratch, and my stang is low. just look at my sig. You cant even tell that I have L/T's. Just something for you to think about for when you decide to buy new headers. cant wait to see that bullitt of yours. I love that blue color.

mmkay.. first off, if you haven't already, go to Welcome to the Home of the "Bullittheads", and join/register.
True Blue Bullitts are pretty nice. If you're thinking of getting aftermarket wheels like the deep dish version of the stockers, I'd go with chrome. Chrome + True Blue = beautiful combo. Once you see pictures of the guys on IMBOC that have that setup, you'll see. On the other hand, black Saleen replicas look pretty sharp on TB cars. As far as exhaust goes, the Bullitts have a "special tuned" exhaust from Ford, so they don't sound like all the other GTs. You could try an off-road midpipe first to see how you'll like it then (i would), before completely writing off the stock mufflers. Possibly an o/r H pipe to keep the sound deep. You don't need to worry about UD pullies. I have a JLT RAI. I like it well enough, but the rubber coupler that connects the pipe to the throttle body rubs on the hood liner, and has put a hole in it. If I decide to get a new one, I'm going to get a kit from MRT. (MRT is owned by Scott Hoag. One of the lead engineers on the Bullitt & Mach 1 program) So expect quality products from them. I'd stay away from a fender-well CAI that places the filter inside the fender. An Air Force buddy with a black Bullitt had one and hydro-locked his motor in the rain. You don't need a different TB unless you get a blower or something. The dual-bore flows pretty well. I'd recommend Bassani headers...or any of their exhaust products, but they're pricey. I have their mid-length headers and catback with a Dr.Gas o/r X pipe. It's pretty loud and it sounds pretty unique. If it's going to be your daily, I'd go with 3.55s or 3.73s and a tuner to recalibrate your speedo, or you can buy a SpeedCal from Dallas Mustang. I'll recommend the MGW shifter. I've had a Steeda Tri-Ax and a Pro 5.0 (in my old Fox) and the MGW felt the best to me. I've never missed a gear, and it does not feel sloppy. As far as the suspension goes, the Bullitt stuff is pretty decent from the factory and sits 3/4" lower than a normal GT with different springs and shocks/struts. You could probably stand to hold off on that for a while. I'd say just go do the normal mods you'd do to a GT. You'll run into a bunch of people who think you shouldn't mod a Bullitt, but whatever. It's just another Mustang. Just don't put a spoiler on it. ![]() |

Thanks.
You can get the MRT stuff here: Mustang Aftermarket Parts and Performance ~ MRT-Direct.com Like I said, I have an o/r X. I think it makes it louder, but slightly more raspy. Though, with the rest of my exhaust, it sounds great. My FoxBody had shorty headers, o/r H pipe and FlowMasters and it was more deep and mellow. Still kinda loud. |

BBK LT, MAC Pro Chamber, 40 Series Flow Cat Back, C&L CAI, T/B and Intake, Cams, Ported Heads, tune. I would also get it lowered with Anthricite DD 18" Bullitts.
