Mac is one of the only companies that make longtube headders for v6 mustang. They also have decent mid pipes, but past that i would stay away from mac. Flowmasters make one of the best sounds that a v6 can make.

The UPS guy just dropped off my Mac catback(p/n TK9624)yesterday.Hopefully the weather will clear up by this weekend and I can install it.I have Flows on my GT now,I wanted something different.I just installed my Bassani o/r X a couple of weekends ago,my car has a very raspy sound especially w/ the Flows,I believe they've had it,I get a terrible hollow sounding vibration coming from one of the mufflers when I rev the engine and it idles down,Either a spot weld has broken loose or something else inside the muffler, its time for a change. As soon as I get them on,I'll let you know what they sound like.

No bassani sounds horrible....

Just because you couldn't take care of yours doesn't mean they suck or sound bad.

Is Bassani horrible due to their price or the fact that V-8's love them too?

Hey idiots...

Mustang Forums > Mustang Tech Forums > V6 Tech > flowmaster or mac

See what section this is?! Great, now like I said basanni sounds HORRIBLE. Now if we were in the GT/mach/cobra section my opinion would differ. Obviously some people need to check what section their in before posting.

Someone get a nerve touched? Dude, it is a public forum, if you can't take a persons opinion, then knock it off with the smart ass comments back. Just cuz someone posts a particular brand and references a V-8 does not make them an idiot. Only an 'idiot' would keep commenting back and stressing that it is a V-6 thread. Who cares man, all the mufflers are built the same way irregardless if it fits a V6 or a V8.

Nope,
We're talking about what mufflers SOUND like...

I can put a basanni muffler on a 4cyl honda si, a 6cyl nissan 350z, a 6cyl 3.8L mustang, and a 2v/4v GT/mach 1... They will sound different on every single car. And thats the point, just because they sound good on a v8 car doesn't mean they sound good on the 6.

I wouldn't want people recommending me something thats gonna sound like crap on my car, would you?

I never said it wasn't a public forum, but its the v6 section of said forum.
