So I recently got my clutch replaced with a RAM clutch kit and had a Steeda adjustable cable put on. They also resurfsced the flywheel. When I got it back, the clutch pedal shook a lot.
I had some issues with the cable since they didn't tighten it correctly so I couldn't shift properly. I took it back to have them fix it and adjust it. They adjusted it and the clutch pedal stopped shaking, but you could hear the throwout bearing squeal a little even though there is a new throwout bearing. The guy told me he would try to adjust it again. Now, the clutch pedal shakes while driving. There's a lot of movement and you can hear something chattering where the clutch is.
Personally, i feel like if you get a car worked on and pay $700+ you shouldn't get you car back in worse condition. So I called the guy up and told him that I had people listen to it and drive it and they all think it's the flywheel. I told him I want to get the flywheel replaced but not pay for labor again, since I feel like they should have told me before putting it back together if there was something wrong with the flywheel. So now I'm having it taken it apart to look at the flywheel. If there's something wrong with the flywheel, possibly not resurfaced correctly, then the owner is filing a claim with the shop that resurfaced the flywheel so that they pay for the labor. All I know is that it came out a lot worse and with a lot more noise!
Now i am looking for the best solution to a possibly warped flywheel with hot spots. Can I get this..... FIDANZA FLYWHEEL REPLACEMENT SURFACE 1965-2004 - CJ Pony Parts, Inc. or should i just get a new flywheel? I was looking at the flywheel surface replacement because it was a cheaper route. But at this point, I don't want to have problems again. And also, should I get another throwout bearing since the new one I currently have is squealing a little? I was told it needed to be broken in but at this point I feel like thats not the case and if they are going to take the transmission out then I might as well pop in a better throwout bearing.
Please let me know what y'all think is the best way to go with the flywheel setup as well as the throwout bearing. I'm having the guy check out the flywheel today and he's going to make sure everything was installed correctly. Let me know as much as possible so I can make a good decision and not have more issues![]()
