Foglights & the Law?

Anyone know the law or code on having your foglights on at night, my son got pull over late one night and got a warning for "not dimming Aux lights" and "insurance and DL address did not match"

It's only a warning but still on his record right? I think maybe it was because it was late at night with a Mustang full of teenagers....

I don't know but I'd like to hear the laws on this...

I still haven't been pulled over once for my lack of front license plate, so go me.

your probably right...sounds like a bunch of BS to me...

who has dimmers on their fog lights? Unless he meant interior lights...

either way, pretty weak reason to pull someone over...

...it's QUOTA TIME!

PS - no offense to any of the cops on the boards...you guys are cool (especially Mitch)

Easy question to answer....and the law is very clear on this...

"If you are a teenager driving a "nice" car/truck and the car/truck is full of other teenagers you WILL get pulled over for any reason real or imagined. " ......Just ask my son....

The only law that I know of dealing with fog lights is that it is illegal to run them with your brights on.

cops dont have quotas, they can write as many tickets as they want.

The only law concerning auxilary fog lamps is that you can only have 2 on. Now that brings us to the next point. If you own a 4-eye, you cannot drive with all for headlights on and your fog lights. Only a total of 4 front mounted lighting devices can be illuminated at once. And for my .02 that is a BS stop your son had and Rocky, I feel the love, Bro.!!!!

BTW, a warning does NOT go on your record. It is required because a written record has to be completed, due to the racial profiling law.

so does this mean that the 94+ mustangs are "exempt" from the "you can't have highbeams and foglights on at same time" rule? since the highbeams and lowbeams are one in the same...

but it does make sense why the gt's come wired to where the foglights turn off when the highbeams are turned on. mine aren't wired that way though.

yeah thats why

the fogs shut off when the brights are turned on... just like fox bodies... but there is a mod on stangnet i believe to make them come on whenever the corners are on.

Im sure you know this... but others might want to know it.

As many as they want - absolutely! But how about as few as they want? I am personally aware of a few different places where there are "unwritten" quotas, or minimums if you prefer, in this state and otherwise.

As stated on my previous post - I have nothing against police officers. They put their lives on the line everyday and I have the utmost respect for them...

I just dislike BS stops

well, i drive a flashy car with a loud exhaust and the infamous *no front plate* and witht eh old setup, with stripes and the same exhaust and never get pulled over for the "bs stops" So something tells me whenever someone claims this, they were usually driving like and idiot and just not telling. "Oh man i got pulled over for no reason! The cop was just jealous of my car! jealous that i was swerving all over the road!"

your dad is also a cop... i wouldnt be surprised if you had one of those "police family" stickers or whatever, where they see it and just wave at you while you go by at 90mph.

i got stopped for turning around in a private property... if that isnt a BS stop, i dunno what is. and they made me late to school too.

Please don't take this personaly...my comments are not meant to disrespect cops and definitely not your father...but you are severly mistaken if you believe that there are not cops out there that stop people for no LEGIT reason.

I am a very safe driver and I take responsibility for my actions. I have had two speeding tickets (both within 10 miles of the speed limit and none in school zones, etc.) and a "rolling stop" ticket in my entire life. I do not street race, nor od I drive "like an idiot". And I drive a V6 - trust me, no car enthusiast (cop or otherwise) is jealous of my car.
