    Fox cupholders question/project

    Here is my latest project.
I started with a stock 88 console with a missing ashtray cover and no place to put my coffee in the morning. I couldn't believe the only cupholder that I could find were those shitty "plug and chug" deals that are only about 2 inches deep and cost $40. I bought one anyway from latemodel resto and returned it the next week.

I think what most people do is just put their cup/can in between the e-brake and passenger seat, but that was starting to make a mess and I am looking for a longer term solution. I'm also trying to clean up the old interior and give it some fresh black paint. I have had 2-2000 mustangs before and I used to pop out the cup holder to hide stuff under it and thought it worked pretty well, so I got another one for this project.

I cut up the console to get it in and you can see in the picture that it fits flush in the front, but has a few gaps in the back. Here's where I need help. Does anyone know of a puddy or filler (body filler?) that I can push in the gaps and sand down smooth and paint? I plan on painting the whole console black when I finish. Any help would be appreciated...

cool intergration. looks like it dosent fit all that bad. you could probably get a small fiberglass kit to patch those holes in the back before you sand and paint.
getting thereh&r ss springs, kyb shocks&struts, 17x9 and 17x10.5 03 cobras, bbk catted x with borla stingers, sct tune and 3.73's.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm going to try some sort of sandable epoxy first...I've never really worked with fiberglass. It seems like it would be easier with something I can just squish in the gaps, sand and then paint.
