Fox to SN95 convertible seatbelts conversion?

Does anyone know if I'd be able to mount and use (safely!) black SN95 convertible seatbelts in my 1991 Convertible. I'm going all black in the interior and black convertible belts are too expensive (even used), plus I like the newer belts more (aesthetically and price wise).

Thanks,
Joe

Good question! I have wondered the same thing. Any help would be great. I was considering putting in a couple of 5 point harness' because they are cheaper than factory replacements.

Just added, UPR non adjustable upper and lower control arms, Eiback Pro drop springs, MGW short throw shifter, billet overflow tank, and a few other billet accessories.

I hear that! I'm still thinking about going with 5 point harnesses, but not sure if they would work that well with stock seats. Besides it might be to much for the understated look I'm going for.

Has anyone put 94+ seatbelts in a fox out there?

Guess nobody really gives a damn about the details.

Someone did tell me on another forum though that they tried to use SN95 belts and "couldn't even see how one could modify the brackets safely to make it work". But then again, he also said that 5.0 resto sells the black belts, but they don't sell Converitble belts only Coupe and Hatchback belts.

I think we are definately in the minority. you may luck out and find a good used set, but i have kept my eyes open for the same thing for about the past year and have not found any black fronts anywhere. I have black back seat belts, but they are the same as the coupe.

I found a set for $160 which isn't too bad, but I did just spend a crap load of money on a '03 Cobra IRS and Cobra front brake setup. I guess I should just buy it and hope it's not too badly damaged.

Trying to get the A/C working too... It NEVER END with this car!!!

no, it wont end. as soon as you have everything replaced, you will have to start all over again. I have about $5000 in my car, but if you looked at it you would think its a $1500 car. I would not mind trading for a coupe, but i dont think i can get my money back out of it.

I'm planning on building up the car and keeping it. Working on an IRS swap, front cobra brake swap right now. Next will be the wheels, then on to the interior, but I'm keeping my open for other things I nedd which is slowing down the 5 lug swap.

Can't decided on a 302 based engine or a Cobra Terminator. That will be a few years down the road though.

I hear ya. My plan was to build this car as a weekend cruiser that had enough power to just be able to get me into trouble. But now i am getting the itch to build a coupe with a windsor based stroker. my buddy has a fresh 351 block already machined .030 over i may pick up from him.

I just called 5.0 resto and the guy said that they carry the front Convertible Seat belts (Black) for $320. GODDAMN! $320 only for the fronts!

I'm guessing I could use black coupe rear belts????
