FS: 78 CL7 4x4 (W/pics)

About 5 years ago i bought this jeep from a fella who was a pipe welder in the plants. His son was about to turn 16 and he refused to give the jeep to him so i got it. Now i'm getting my masters and really just dont have time to joy ride this thing anymore. I drove this jeep for 1 year as my daily during my undergrad but since It has been more of a weekend ride when i go down home. I know this jeep runs like a champ, and all the details are comming from the guy who built it.

78 CJ7 hunter green.
Motor: 304 V-8 w/ k&n and 4bbl carb. supposedly has an RV cam as well (i know the motor is a v-8 and think it is a chrystler motor)
Trans: 4 speed manual with granny gear 1st
Body: Good condition no huge dents or rust spots
Rear: I was told that the rear has a locker and Moser axles.
Tires: BFG 33/12.5 MT's with a full size spare.
Extras: like i said the guy was a pipe welder...so he built custom front and rear bumpers. Also has a WARN 9000lb winch. Have a full cloth top and doors but i never put them on. When I first got it the spedo worked, but now it doesn't work ( I know it's the cable) And the int. has been sprayed with liner.

I love this jeep but would rather see it be driven and not just sit idle and waste away. As of now I do not have pics, but maybe I can get a buddy back home to take some if your intersted. This jeep would make and awesome beach cruiser, hunting/ranch vehicle, or first truck, and has great potential. I just dont have time. I'm asking $4000, and I'm willing to work with the right buyer.

whats the story on the roll cage? That isn't what came on the cj's but more like a 94+ WRANGLER.

cage

You know I'm not 100% sure. Like I said the guy was a pipe welder so maybe he fabbed it up, but I think it looks good. The trick is to keep it on the wheels and off the roll cage....it tends to be a smoother ride!

I really couldnt tell you the exact mileage becuase the motor is a transplant v-8. I was told the motor tranny combo had around 10,000-15,000 miles.

any dings, scratches, anything dented?

Whats the condition on the tires?

Can you get some pics with the top and the doors and such on?

Will it stay dry in the rain?

What kind of radio and what not?

The roof and doors come with it, I never put them on so I can't give you pics. you'll need to install those. The tires are in good condition, and the radio is just one that was in there ( I dont even know if it works) this is more of a beach cruiser and there is no need for a radio with the top off!!! I mostly drove this as a fair wheather truck so it was always dry.

My advice would be come give it a look. You'll be able to tell if you want it just like I did when I picked it up. I really just matters what you are looking for.
