gas problems
hey yall... i jus got an 02 V6 for my birthday from my parents cuz my 68 was costing me too much money, and ive got a problem filling up the tank... you know how when the cars full it shuts off the lil gas nozzle? well when i know the car is empty and i put the nozzle in it automatically shuts off after like a second... and ive tried it in every position possible, do any of yall know what i should do??

have you tried a different gas station / pump? The actual cut off is realted to the pump sensing how full your tank is.

On my grand prix I would have to put the nozzle in all of the way and then pull it back about a 1/4 inch to get it to fill properly. You could try that also.

There is a restriction in your filler neck or the vent for the filler neck has a restriction and the pump nozzle senses back pressure and turns off.

just pull the pump back a little, pushing it all the way in makes it turn off.
