Gear Box, steering shaft, alignment.

Do ya'll have any ideas how to properly align the two? Here is how I did it, I spun the gear box all the way to the left lock and then did the same w/ the steering wheel....what do ya'll think, ta' bueno? Once I know they are lined up to the same point I can take the steering wheel off and realign it to the column (thanx to my dumba** friend)...

Second comment/question. on the coupling disc, the little rubber disc between the yoke and gear box. My old power steering box had just bolts, the new manul box has two bolts and these funky, smooth "pins", what is the general consensus about putting 4 grade 8 bolts and ignorin those stupid pins? Or are they there for a reason?
